We are small practice, situated in the centre of the town of Dundalk, with an emphasis on Civil and Criminal Court work. In addition to attending Courts and other tribunals nationwide, we are available to attend at Garda Stations to provide advice to suspects during the course of their detention.  Using up to date technology, we communicate with our client’s by electronic and visual means as well as by face to face consultations when it is safe to do so.

Since qualifying as a solicitor, Conor MacGuill has practised continually and is an experienced advocate appearing regularly in relation to Criminal, Civil and Family Law matters before each jurisdiction of the Courts.

Conor MacGuill Biography

Litigation and Court Specialist

Conor was educated at University College Dublin, The National University of Ireland, Galway and The Law Society of Ireland, he qualified as a solicitor in the summer of 2000. Since then, he has worked extensively in both Criminal and Civil Courts in the Republic of Ireland. He has acted in many reported cases and has written extensively for several legal publications in respect of issues within his expertise.

 

Conor is an accredited tutor with NITA (National Institute of Trial Advocacy), which he obtained in 2012 having completed their advocacy course in 2007. He is also trained to instruct solicitors in advising suspects during the course of detention, having completed a course with The Law Society of Ireland, in conjunction with Superlat and Dublin City University, in 2016.

 

Conor has served as secretary of the County Louth Solicitors Bar Association between 2007 and 2010 and as its President between 2012 and 2016. He has volunteered with the Free Legal Advice Centres from 2002 to date as well as being a committee member with The Law Society of Ireland Finuas Skillnets from 2007 to date also. He has been a member of the County Louth Court Users Group since 2007.

 

Conor has served as a litigation committee member with The Dublin Solicitors Bar Association from 2005 to date and with The Law Society of Ireland from 2015 to date. Since 2018, he has been a member of The Law Society panel to assist solicitors in difficulty with them. 

 

Throughout his career, Conor MacGuill has been a lecturer and a tutor in The Law School of The Law Society of Ireland and contributes to course development there.
